Reduce the frequency, severity, and duration of migraines naturally.
Our Migraine Formula proprietary blend has fourteen different supplements, vitamins, and herbs packed into each vegetarian capsule. Each of these supplements have been hand picked by our medical director and all have been studied in regard to their effectiveness in migraine headaches. Our goal is to be able to reduce the frequency, severity, and duration of migraines naturally so we can limit the amount of prescription medications that need to be taken. In an article published by the University of Maryland Medical Center, many of our active ingredients are referenced and shown to be effective including: Magnesium, Feverfew, CoenzymeQ10, and Riboflavin (B2). We have also added a potent dose of Ginger Extract. Not only does ginger ease stomach discomfort and nausea that often accompanies migraines, but also, in a study titled "Comparison Between the Efficacy of Ginger and Sumatriptan in the Ablative Treatment of the Common Migraine", results have shown that "The effectiveness of ginger powder in the treatment of common migraine attacks is statistically comparable to sumatriptan." Sumatriptan is an abortive prescription medication taken at the onset of a migraine, commonly given to patients by headache specialists. Click here to see the study.
Last, we have added a full dose of B-100 Complex, which includes B1, B2, B3, B6, Folic Acid, B12, Biotin, Choline, Para-Amino Benzoic Acid (PABA), and Pantothenic Acid. B-100 Complex contains the range of B-vitamins and has been used to help ease symptoms of migraines as well as: reduce cholesterol levels, reduce risk for heart disease, stroke, and colon cancer, improve memory, increase energy levels, increase metabolism, and improve mood. There is a great article explaining the benefits of B100 Complex at www.evitamins.com. Click here to see the evitmain.com article.
KEY MIGRAINE FORMULA INGREDIENTS AND HOW THEY WORK
Riboflavin is needed for growth and is necessary for the production of red blood cells. Riboflavin supplementation has been used for decades as a remedy for newborns with jaundice and vitamin B2 deficiency.
More recently, higher doses of Riboflavin have been used to help migraine sufferers. There is evidence that shows that low levels of mitochondrial oxygen in the brain are involved in the pathology of migraine headaches. Riboflavin plays an important role in how our bodies get energy from carbohydrates, fats, and proteins and is essential to tissue respiration. Also, it helps convert tryptophan to Niacin (B3). It is thought that migraine sufferers may have low levels of Vitamin B2 and this makes Riboflavin supplementation a natural treatment option. It is often used in combination with other migraine treatments, most commonly magnesium and coenzyme Q10.
Magnesium is a mineral and is important for the production of protein, the production and transport of energy, the function of the body’s enzymes, regular muscle operation, and it keeps bones strong. It also helps keep heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system, and healthy nerve function.
Some migraine sufferers have been found to have low levels of magnesium in the brain. Research has also shown low levels of magnesium in the brain during a migraine attack. Magnesium supplementation has been shown to increase intracellular magnesium levels in people with migraines. Doses of magnesium, ranging from 200 to 600mg, have been used effectively in the prophylaxis of migraines. Often times, magnesium is combined with riboflavin and coenzyme Q10 to help treat migraine headaches.
Coenzyme Q10 is an oil-solutble substance that is found in the body in most eukaryotic cells. CoQ10 can reduce damage to cells caused by the environment as well as other factors. CoQ10 is a vitamin-like substance and promotes energy generation in the body in the form of ATP. Levels of CoQ10 are thought to be very low in people with cardiac failure and evidence has shown that CoQ10 helps treat migraine headaches.
Feverfew has been used for hundreds of years as a natural way to treat headaches, skin conditions, menstrual problems, stomach aches, asthma, fevers, bug bites, tooth pain, psoriasis, allergies, tinnitus, arthritis, nausea and vomiting. Feverfew is rich in compounds known as sesquiterpene lactones. The most important of these compounds could be parthenolide.
Scientific studies have shown that parthenolide helps relieve smooth muscle spasms and promotes the release of serotonin from platelets and polymorphonuclear leukocyte granules. It helps prevent the blood vessels in the brain from contracting. It helps migraines by restricting the release of blood vessel dilating substances from platelets and reducing the production of inflammatory substances. Both of these elements are associated with migraines.
Ginger is a commonly used spice that is a natural remedy for nausea, diarrhea, and upset stomach. Ginger has also been shown to decrease pain. It has been found effective in several studies for treating nausea.
It is thought that ginger may block prostiglandins, which stimulate muscle contractions, control inflammation, and impact levels of certain hormones. Scientists have found nine compounds in ginger that bind to serotonin receptors and help reduce migraines. Also, since nausea and vomiting are common with migraines, ginger has been used to ease these symptoms.
Take 1 tablet three times daily with food. The product is safe enough to take 3 capsules at one time, or to take 2 in the AM and 1 in the PM (as long as three capsules are taken daily). Taking 1 capsule three times a day helps limit the severity of rare, but potential mild side effects and taking the capsules with food helps with absorption of the ingredients. Neuroline Solution’s Migraine Formula is designed to reach maximum benefit after at least 60 days of regular daily use.
